Youth Development Programme

What is the Youth Development Programme?

The Youth Development Programme serves as the foundation of RHU's football development pathway. It focuses on developing technical ability, football intelligence, leadership skills, character and personal growth while preparing players for future opportunities in football, education and professional life.

Does participation guarantee selection into the High Performance Academy?

No. Advancement into the RHU High Performance Academy (HPA) is based on player development, performance, commitment, attitude and programme requirements. The Youth Development Programme serves as an important pathway into the Academy.

Can players participate if they do not intend to pursue professional football?

Yes. RHU believes football is a tool for personal development. Many participants use the skills, discipline and experiences gained through football to pursue success in education, leadership and professional careers outside of sport.

High Performance Academy

What is the RHU High Performance Academy?

The RHU High Performance Academy is the club's elite player development programme for high-potential male and female athletes between the ages of 13 and 21. The Academy provides advanced training, mentorship, performance support and exposure opportunities designed to prepare players for collegiate, professional and international football environments.

How are players selected for the Academy?

Players may be identified through club programmes, scouting activities, evaluations, trials or other talent identification processes conducted by RHU's technical staff.

Does the Academy provide international exposure opportunities?

Where available, RHU seeks to connect players with tournaments, showcases, educational opportunities, collegiate recruitment pathways and international football experiences through its network of partners and stakeholders.

Female Football Development Programme

What is the purpose of the Female Football Development Programme?

The programme is dedicated to creating opportunities for women and girls through football by providing access to quality coaching, mentorship, personal development and pathways for advancement both on and off the field.

Are there opportunities for progression within the programme?

Yes. Players may progress through various development pathways, including the RHU High Performance Academy, senior football opportunities and external educational or football-related opportunities where available.

Senior Men's Programme

What role does the Senior Men's Programme play within the club?

The Senior Men's Programme serves as one of RHU's premier competitive platforms and represents the highest level of competition within the club's football pathway. It supports player progression from the Academy while representing RHU in domestic, regional and confederation competitions.

How are players selected for the Senior Men's Team?

Player selection is determined by the club's technical staff based on performance, development, team needs, commitment and other football-related considerations.

Scouting, Transfers and Opportunities

Does RHU assist players with collegiate opportunities?
